For the Community

In order to help prevent identity theft in our communities, SHRED has partnered with various cities in north Texas by sponsoring on-site shredding events. Citizens are encouraged to bring their personal records and watch our shredding equipment in action. In addition to seeing our shred trucks tear through two tons of paper an hour on our live video screen, this is a great opportunity for parents to bring their children and show them first hand how they can protect themselves by properly handling proprietary personal information and by protecting the environment. Once your paper is destroyed, it will be recycled! During an average community shred event, the following natural resources are conserved:

  • 85 trees
  • 1,900 gallons of oil
  • 35,000 gallons of water
  • 20,500 kilowatt hours of electricity
  • 16.5 cubic yards of landfill space!
